Dennis Gabor: Google Logo

Dennis Gabor: Google Logo

Today is Dennis Gabor’s 110th anniversary. It seems that Dennis Gabor is google logo.110th dedicated to the anniversary of the birth of Dennis Gabor, the chameleon-like logo of the famous search engine Google, for now green, perhaps accidentally, but in theme with the world day today to the environment. The society of Stanford University students wanted to commemorate the Nobel prize for physics in 1971 and won thanks to the invention in 1947, and subsequent improvement, holography, the registration procedure and reconstruction of holograms without using lenses.

It is this technique that the logo was inspired by Google. Gabor, a scientist and inventor of Hungarian-British origin, is in fact born in Budapest on June 5, 1900. Finished his studies in Germany, had to leave the country for the advent of the Nazi Third Reich, because the family was of Jewish origin. Becoming a teacher in 1947 at Imperial College of Science Technology in London, since 1958, the same institute, he obtained the chair of physical electronics, and in 1968 began working in the United States as a researcher at CBS Laboratories in Stamford
